We
meet on Thursday evenings from 5.30pm to 9.30pm during school
term times and sessions are held in the Talisman Theatre’s
Studio. There are four sessions of one hour each:-
Group
1 for 9/10 years - 5.30pm to 6.30pm. Group
2 for 11/12 years - 6.30pm to 7.30pm.
Group 3 for 13/14 years - 7.30pm to 8.30pm.
Group 4 for 15+ years - 8.30pm to 9.30pm.
The
youth members get the opportunity to work together on a variety
of different aspects of theatre. Themes include scripts, improvisation,
theatre exercises, awareness, concentration and introduction
to theatre crafts and skills. There is no audition, or interview,
as enthusiasm is the only requirement. The
sessions are £2.50 each and are payable at the beginning of
the term, but depends on the number of sessions in that term.
All youth members will be given the chance to perform at least
once a year on the theatre’s main stage. Within this cost
they become a Talisman youth member, receive a copy of the
Talismag (our members’ magazine) and will get the opportunity
to see selected Talisman productions.
