We meet on Thursday evenings from 6pm to 8.30pm during school term time in the Talisman Theatre’s Studio.  There are two sessions of one and quarter for two age groups, Group 1 for 9 to 11 year olds and Group 2 for 12 to 15 years.

The youth members get the opportunity to work together on a variety of different aspects of theatre.  Themes include scripts, improvisation, theatre exercises, awareness, concentration and introduction to theatre backstage departments.

There is no audition, or interview, as enthusiasm is all they need but unfortunately there is a waiting list.  The theatre’s website gives more information and photos.

The sessions are £2.50 each but this payable at the beginning of the term and depends on the number of sessions.  An 11 week term would be £27.50.  All youth members will be given the chance to perform once a year on the theatre’s main stage.  Within this cost they become a youth member and receive a copy of the talismag, the internal magazine.
